Protect Your Dog or Cat from Heartworm Disease

Protect Your Dog or Cat from Heartworm Disease and Ticks

Heartworm disease is spread through mosquito bites and can be harmful and even fatal to your pet if not treated in a timely manner. Once the mosquito contracts the disease it can spread it far and wide to both dogs and cats. Heartworm treatment must be begun immediately in order to protect your pet from further complications and illness.

Tick bites can cause serious medical problems if not treated right away in an effective manner. We encourage regular tick prevention for your pets, especially if they spend any time in areas that are known to have tick infestations.

We offer comprehensive prevention options to protect your pet. Currently, there is no treatment available for the treatment of heartworm disease in cats, making prevention that much more important. If your dog is affected with either of these two ailments, call us right away and we can begin treatment.

Prevention of Tick Bites and Heartworm Disease

We can provide your dog or cat with effective heartworm prevention medication that you administer on a regular basis. There are several different options including topical creams, oral medications, and injections, and we strongly recommend that all of your pets be treated for heartworm disease prevention. Indoor cats are not immune from heartworm as mosquitos are able to get indoors and bite them.

If your pet is going to be in an area that is known to have ticks, we recommend that you treat them with a supplementary spray in addition to their usual flea and tick prevention medication. Prevention is definitely preferable over the treatment of these two conditions!
